I’m not gay, but isn’t life hard enough without the community piling on somebody for not coming out the “right” way? I would never push someone to come out before they were ready. We don’t know what’s going on in their life.

Gavin was maybe a little bitchy about Colton but while he wasn’t nice about it, he said what a lot of peole in the gay community felt about Colton, because for years and years, he kept denying the obvious, even when those pics of him making out with some dude came out.

I’m not disagreeing that people should be able to claim their own sexual identity and not have others assign it for them but ‘political identity’ is a really weird way to put it. Republican, democrat and bisexual? Just, odd.

The only conflict I see here is the assumption that sexuality is binary. Having a loving relationship with a member of the opposite sex before going into a loving relationship with a member of the same sex doesn’t necessarily mean that that person has experienced a change in their sexuality.
