That's me, too! There is a step in there that asks you "are you using a microSD or SD with your old 3DS" or something like that. I have to wonder if that might be for us.

Yeah, it's the same. It only supports FAT32, so that means 32GB and smaller, or larger ones that you've formatted to FAT32 yourself. (I'm using a 64GB)
