Thanks to the Detroit Lions, who made football on Thanskgiving possible, and who play the first game, that’s usually over by halftime, so we can take a break before rooting for the Cowboys to lose over dinner.

Basically with no one on base the outfield can play shallow, and the infield as deep as possible, because unless it’s over the wall Stanton’s getting a single.

I liked what they did in WWII. They had contracts and things you could earn by playing, and during the special periods, holidays, etc., I managed to unlock some special weapons I wanted by earning enough points, and I’m not a good player. Things like “kill x people with a shotgun” or “play x of x mode games.” Harder…

I never understood the logic:  Take a city that hasn’t cared about NFL football for about 20 years.  Put a team there, wait a year, then put another team there.  Why?  Maybe if the Chargers were there alone their fans would follow and make some new ones, but once the Rams were there, the Chargers were not getting any…

As a New Jersey resident I would say: that’s all we got, one goddam yard?” But since it’s Rutgers, no one here is listening anyway. Or watching, or caring for that matter. Even when Rutgers was in the Big East, no one cares. I think if you polled all 50 states, NJ cares the least about their state college football…
