When we met LeVar Burton at SDCC, my fiancee and I bought an autographed photo from him and he threw in a hug for free.

Arguments like this are stupid. It's not an either/or situation. The show has aged and slipped, like all shows do, and expressing the desire for it to come back or not has nothing to do with whatever other crap is on TV.

Frankly it was pretty confusing.

I'll be that guy: I'm not a fan of this Elevator arc at all. I mean I love Louis CK with my life, but this is some seriously obtuse shit. The dreamy aspect is starting to become a chore to watch for me, and that makes me sad.

Yeah I had to pause the show and look up how old she is—14 (she was born on my 21st birthday)

It felt very "Sopranos" to me, but that show traded in ominous visions from the get go. To have them suddenly pop up here is jarring and a little off, in my opinion.

They're mostly gone now, save for no hard liquor sales on Sundays and car dealerships being closed one day a week. But used to be stores were closed on Sundays, or certain items were restricted, like you couldn't buy hammers or nails or other stuff for "work."

Maybe the blue laws down here in Texas have my POV skewed, but would a fast food restaurant have been open on a Sunday evening in 1969?

I just find the conversation pandering is all.

Would a gay white male be enough late night diversity for everyone, or would we still be having that conversation if NPH was picked?

It's things like the Walker Texas Ranger lever making it to air on a major network that make me extremely happy. I mean, what was the pitch for that like?

I'm with ya

A theory was that with Tonight moving back to NYC, it would open up the talent pool in LA. But I don't think even in NBC's wildest dreams did they think Fallon would blow up big like he did.

The old bits pop up from time to time, like Triumph, Masturbating Bear, and—my personal favorite—the Walker Texas Ranger lever.

Mostly I just wanted to make the jokey comparison. But really, it was unnecessary TV

Welcome to TV

Did TBS finally clear all of the Tyler Perry out?

I wasn't really into wrestling as a kid, so it wasn't a huge deal. But I hung out with his son from time to time.

Can I just mention that my cousin used to live down the street from Bruiser Brody, right before he got stabbed in Puerto Rico?

So a minority gets a late night slot on a major network and it's greeted with derision? Make up your mind, AV Club!
