iMovie is definitely what you need - if you don't want the whole iLife package you can download iMovie on its own from the Mac App Store (providing you have OS X Snow Leopard or later)
Great to see some more things for linux :) - I'm under 18, so not allowed Google plus, but I usually just use skype to talk with friends. My laptop is quite old, so it doesn't have a webcam and I have to use a headset, so Google Plus wouldn't be the best for me.
