“There are cheaper FoodSaver models out there, but the 2435 justifies its cost with a retractable vacuum sealing hose, allowing it to vacuum seal specially designed zipper bags, in addition to the usual heat-seal bags.”

It’s awesome when people so directly contradict themselves:

Wow, so much mis-information in one post. You clearly know very little about EVs yet you speak like you’re an expert on the subject.

It has. This is exactly how a BMW i3 works (ICE only powers a generator) and for the most part the Chevrolet Volt works mostly the same way (ICE primarily only powers generator but can be connected to wheels for extra acceleration in certain cases).

Not that that isn’t a great idea for cross country rigs. I have to agree with most other comments that it’s probably not the market Tesla is aiming at.

We traded our 2013 LEAF (That we paid $15k for) in and leased a 2016 LEAF in it’s place about 8 months ago, long before the Bolt was on the market.

I *really* suggest people go read United’s Contract of Carriage:

We actually have a *lot* of excess capacity in the grid during certain hours of the day, and pretty much all EVs and most charging stations sold today have the ability to schedule charging for off-peak times. Some can even connect up with your utility provider and let them excercise some control over when your car

People need to stop trying to determine EV “savings” by looking at fuel cost alone. That’s *not* where the most significant savings are in an EV.

That’s why I love the way Firefox does it. Don’t autofill anything until I click in the text box to be filled. It may not be as fast as autofilling a whole page but it’s a lot more secure.

“Mozilla Firefox is currently immune to this phishing exploit”

Erm, I just noticed an error in my math. I ended up doing 21 hours a day instead of 3. Here’s the corrected version:

Google voice is not laggy or VoIP AFAIK unless you’re using it to make phone calls with your computer or over Wifi. When I make Google voice calls they go over the standard carrier grade lines like a regular call and there’s no discernable lag or reduction in voice quality with those calls.

Are you serious?

Your exact quote was:

“The electricity cost in NYC for a typical 2 bedroom apartment is well over $100.”

Even if LEDs used the same amount of electricity as Incandescents, they are *still* cheaper in the long run from longevity alone. The electricity savings is just a bonus on top of the bonus of not buying new bulbs every 1,000 hours.

So T-Mobile has caught up to Google’s 2009 tech (Google Voice / Grand Central)?

And someone going around, picking them up, finding the barcode, taking a picture of the barcode somehow draws less attention?

“Eh, you get charged”
