Just like driving a car, the sound allows you to know the power output of the helicopter more easily than just knowing the stick position. The more senses, the better.

I guess it initially reads as just the opposite.

If the transmission doesn’t downshift early enough, the RPMs won’t rise fast enough to build enough boost to create the power. It is an extension of the turbo lag issue, but also just the automatic transmission issue.

That truck is also running an engine that is pre-DPF systems. The DPF systems have reduced the efficiency of the engines quite a bit, while also allowing them to make a lot more power in some regards.

I think the problem always winds up being that everyone wants them to exist, but not enough people want to actually shell out the money for them.
