@leptonette: Well the first thing that occurred to me was that perhaps astrology isn't entirely bunk, and this is the underlying mechanism.

@realsnickers: I think my favorite jokes are the ones only a very few people get :P.

@Dys: That looks cool on the surface, but the fundamental problem is that presentations are inherently linear. And generally good presentations use that linear structure to give the audience clues and cues as to what's going on.

If you need a keyboard and trackpad, your presentation is probably already a failure.

Russia needs new glasnost, not new glonass.

@Stem_Sell: Pff, mass transistor is better than the tube.

Now playing

Hey look buddy, I'm an Engineer, that means I solve problems. Not problems like 'What is beauty?', because that would fall within the purview of your conundrums of philosophy. I solve practical problems.

@Purdueable: They started off making throttle controls for flight simulators.

Needs a flywheel and a better control law.

@Jeff: Or just use a flywheel.

@logruszed: Empirical evidence. State run oil fields are less efficient than corporate run, that's why the private oil companies are brought in to operate the very tough patches that require the most advanced extraction techniques.

@Yazah: Why? The most important thing, when it comes to oil exploitation, is maximizing EROI. Privatization is the best way to accomplish this. Anything else is waste, which is a sin.

@logruszed: Uh, they do. For every barrel of oil pulled from the seabed, the US government gets a cut. It's the second largest source of income for the federal government after income tax.

@JoeJoeBrown: Well, I don't want to be too critical, but her microwave circuit for the transmitter sucks.

@grok666: I'm sure there's some hams out there who understand microwave circuit design. But a solid introduction to the subject is at least a full credit (i.e., two semester) senior undergraduate or graduate level study, because they're really the hardest circuits to work with. This isn't just simple analog

Meh. If you can afford to play, the US judicial system is usually fair.

@JoeJoeBrown: Modern control theory is also pretty awesome.

@radarskiy: Formal education is usually the best way to learn things, but it's not the only way. But this is why I said a background, not a degree :). Plus, there's a lot of people with a degree in EE who would be challenged by this, as RF circuit design is often not introduced at undergrad level.

@Grindhouse Murders: I consider DIY to be things that are accessible to a large portion of the population without an excess investment of training or equipment. You can't do this without at least a basic understanding of RF circuit design, digital filters and FPGA development.
