Hey guys? You know you are going to have a hard time filling your jury box if you discount every woman person who has ever been sexually assaulted right?

verdicts were overturned after it was discovered that the foreman of the jury had been a victim of statutory rape

Hmm, that lovely poem is missing something ... maybe about how the person most likely to die from a gun is the gunowner? Maybe something about how in the ensuing panic, they'll probably be more likely to hurt someone with friendly fire than take out the assailant?

I am so tired of this bullshit on my facebook feed:

“I stand behind you in line at the store with a smile on my face...and a gun under my shirt and you are none the wiser, yet you are safer for having me next to you. I won’t shoot you. My gun won’t pull it’s own trigger. It is securely holstered with the trigger

Not calling out Sam Bee here, but wanted to get something off my chest: I’m always a little disgruntled when “thoughts and prayers” get mocked and derided in the wake of a shooting. My church (hippie dippie New England Episcopalians) formed a Gun Reform Legislation Committee after Newtown—we have teams of callers who

I agree. They are basically asking, if a male opponent had the lead Hillary does, would you have conceeded by now. And it seems like the answer is simple: No, he wouldn’t bow out then either. Bernie has never been a traditional candidate, and his staying in the race has more to do with his conviction to his beliefs,

I think it’s been getting worse. I think Sanders has some legitimate complaints about the way he’s been treated by the DNC and Clinton, and he’s reacting to that (I voted for him, so it’s easier for me to take his perspective). But what’s done is done, and he’s not going to win, and it’s time to get over it and start

Out of curiosity, was Hillary asked if she was racist for trying to get in the way of the first Black president? I don’t remember that happening but I could have missed it. Has Hillary been asked if she is being anti-Semitic for standing in the way of the first Jewish president?

For real, though, that is an incredibly dumb question.

You know what, though, for once I’m ok with someone who thinks the First Amendment means “I get to say/do whatever I want with no back talk.” Because he's in third grade and that's how we learn.

This guy’s lawyer says: “It’s very rare that someone is involved in a homicide case with someone they just had a baby with.”

Think of it this way...this is an unusual story, people were punished for harming this girl, and the general consensus of people reading about it is one of disgust. That was not always the case. That is not the case in some parts of the world right now. Things are getting better, but slowly.

This still involves a girl who: 1. was statutory raped because she is too young to consent; 2. didn’t consent to having 25 guys watch her have sex, and again, couldn’t have consented because statutory rape; 3. didn’t consent to star in an adult video, and couldn’t have consented because again, she is not an adult; 4.

I don’t think he meant to. Objectification and sexism often intersect with each other so I can see how he would have been confused or just simply misspoke about it. It doesn’t seem like he is trying to minimize the fact that women are objectified. He just needs a lesson in Intro to Women’s Studies and he would

I love when women watch out for other women

Fair enough. But there are minority groups in many movements that advocate for the extreme positions.

Honestly, I think the proverbial jury is still out. Some are probably born with bad wiring. Others, the majority in fact, were molested and/or abused themselves as children. So, probably a combination of nature/nurture is my understanding of the current thinking. The important thing is that pedophilia - sexual

Yep. No one wants to believe that these people could exist in their own backyard so they create these stereotypes about what they should look like (very obviously creepy) and who they should be (the powerful elite) but for every person who thinks someone with good looks, charitable reputation, fame, power and/or money

A lot of statutes don't allow for separate charges for each piece of pornography found. In my state, they just recently passed legislation which would allow prosecutors to charge separately for each item they possess, rather than just the singular charge of possession of child porn.

Karla Homolka* ruined it for every woman who was truly a victim.
