I was thinking that exact thing the minute the trailer dropped.

Tom Holland version especially should be dealing with more down-to-earth threats, in my opinion

Yeah, no. They aren’t decent people. There’s large swaths of my family that I won’t ever be talking to again. The idea that one should avoid politics and religion in conversation to avoid getting riled up is moronic. You should want to know when you’re talking to racist, bigoted, homophobes and not pretend it’s okay

Can’t say as I’m entirely shocked, but still disappointed.

Well, *I* was saying boo-urns.

Apparently the people running with these stories are the usual people who act as royal mouthpieces when the royals don’t want to make an official statement.  So, yeah, the RF is still sulking over Diana.

But has there been any actual word/response from the Palace - other than anonymous “Royal sources” who have been ‘quoted’ in tabloids in that same perfect news-quote manner all anonymous tabloid sources seem to speak?

Return to Oz. Maybe they couldn’t pick just one scene.

Didn’t the show get a ton of criticism for historical inaccuracies with the Kennedy episode (and also a ton of questionable claims about Philip’s love life during season 2)? I wonder if this is just the first time some really care, since Philip is not a talked about figure these days (at least when he isn’t behind the

Also, her brother can suck a fat one. When Diana was being dragged by the press, he didn’t stand by her, he up and moved his family to SOUTH AFRICA. He never cared about her.

(I am seeing many royal biographers really denouncing this show in saying that Charles never was unfaithful once married)

In the context of The Crown (no idea if it is like this in reality) Elizabeth and Margret were not daughters of the king for much of their childhood. They were daughters of the second son and probably not as much beholden to the protocols of the actual monarch and their children. Elizabeth was Queen at 25 while also

i like bill burr’s bit about this

Okay, so this is massively stupid. An actor’s job is, quite by definition, to portray someone/thing they’re not. Should Dustin Hoffman not have been cast in Rain Man? Was Daniel Day-Lewis the wrong choice for My Left Foot because he doesn’t actually have CP? I don’t think these films are any less effective or

Well, I’m sure there’ll be some uproar gainst Riz once they hear of it.

Ziegler... is not autistic”. That sound like the STUPIDEST complaint in the world, currently (I’m sure there have been many others equally as stupid before). I mean, that is REALLY REALLY stupid. Do people not know what ‘acting’ is? Sean Connery was neither Russian nor a submarine commander yet he played both - at

The film looks horrible. That said, I understand Sia’s frustration here. No matter what she does, it will never be good enough for some people. The easiest choice is to simply not include such characters in your film, which is often the unintended consequence of such advocacy.

Why not both? I don’t find it difficult to sympathize with Charles’s frustration and anxiety while also recognizing that he’s acting like a prick.

I don’t know about the real-life Camilla, but the TV Camilla was a married woman who was in an open marriage but seeing an incredibly needy, emotionally immature married man who was in a closed marriage but not in a position to ever divorce. She should have called it off for everyone involved. As Dan Savage would say,

Funny now the complaints come, and not like in season 2 when they claimed Philip was involved in the Profumo Affair which is nonsense.  Recent history striking a nerve perhaps?
