I seems that the Netfilx series The Pharmacist would be a good companion piece to this doc.  That series focused on one town’s struggle with opioid addiction and a pharmacist’s work to save the addicts and kick out the ‘medical clinics’ that sold the drugs.

The casting for this Joe Exotic series is fucking bonkers. I love JCM. Hedwig is one of my fave musicals and movie musicals. But I just don’t think he’s right for this role. I’ve never seen him stretch in that way as a character actor. Neither is McKinnon, frankly. And I like her very much as well.
