If every single Democrat doesn’t vote against DeVos, I will snap. She is a horrible monstrous person.

I’m going to guess that this is the reason—DeVos, Puzder, Sessions are worth devoting lots of energy/time.

This is what I’m really hoping, especially with Devos...

I can only assume (hope?) they are backing him because they have bigger fish to fry in terms of the cabinet nominees (like they’ve made a deal that they’ll back him if so-and-so doesn’t back someone else?). This still feels like a betrayal, but there are worse cabinet picks, imo.

Date is January 21, 2017, Inauguration was on 01/20/2017, I hope its intentional error.

Hahaha ok I just saw it. Ohhhhhhh my.

The date on the painting is January 21, 2017: the date of the Women’s March, not the Inauguration.

Petty? Yes. But, clearly, they are egging Trump on so he can blow this up and mess up. They are trying to give him enough rope to hang himself.

Yes! I can feel sorry for her and still think she is not that great of a person.

My experience is that white folk (and Latin folks- I call my people out on their anti-blackness) have never been put on notice for their shitty behavior. They just get it echoed back to them, reaffirming their values. It’s disconcerting and exhausting.

It’s not good enough. No one should be offended by the idea that going outside for a few hours on a Saturday is the beginning of the hard work. If you look back on the years 2017-2021 and the sum total of your efforts at resistance were showing up at a festive march the day after Trump’s inauguration, are you

I say that I and others I know that are also nice white ladies ARE supporters of BLM, but that doesn’t mean the criticism isn’t justified. I especially cringe at those who are joyously pointing out that there weren’t any arrests at this march. Like duh, when the cops don’t show up in riot gear looking for a fight,

It’s not good enough. You don’t get a cookie for this. It’s literally the least one can do (besides not showing up). I don’t need to be respectful of people who haven’t earned respect. I respect people who show up to BLM protests time after time. I respect people who phone bank for campaigns, and canvass. I respect

After the march my wife and I attended a conference called ‘Rise Above’ sponsored by ‘Lawyers for Good Government’ which was designed to help people continue the movement beyond just marching for a day. One of the speakers from Black Lives Matters talked about the importance of being an ‘accomplice, not an ally’

I confer, thanks for pointing that out. The first time I called, I opposed a pipeline and that’s all I planned to say. The gal who answered the phone was so supportive and enthusiastic, she sounded like a person stranded on a desert island. It was a great experience. I plan on becoming hooked on this activity! 🌸🙂

I would love it if Jez kept a running stream of bills currently looking for approval, so we could all call together daily about the same subject.

I called my Senators to read them about voting to repeal the ACA.
