Alternate headline “Gas is expensive everywhere but US, everywhere else buys small cars” I just summed up the whole article in 11 words.

They don’t want a lot of the crap that manufacturers are putting on new cars. So they are going for the devil they know: older cars they understand and trust.

I own a 2015 Xterra Pro-4x in excellent shape and i could probably sell it for what i paid for it almost 4 years ago here in CO at least.

Peters of Nashua (both Nissan and Honda) has a pretty bad rep for pricing even in non-crazy times.

years ago I was looking to buy a Pilot LX AWD (list price ~27,5) and they came back with a price of something like 29k

I ended up paying 23.5k at another dealer (out the door including Mass sales tax).

I will happily buy your house for less than you paid for it.  I will do it today.

Seats seven *and* it has 3 pedals?!

A lot of money considering the years and mileage, BUT since I can’t go down to my friendly local Saab dealer and order one, gotta go Nice Price on this beauty.

I live in CT now (from western MA) and HIGHLY recommend NYST... just maybe not through Tony.... you can do a “private” day for half the cost and usually more track time.

That makes zero sense since once of the biggest selling points of EVs is being able to fuel up while you're sleeping.

Especially if you have decent winter tires. Sometimes they just need to dig to terra firma.

Dude.  You’re blowing my mind with this reality-warping option.

If they are unwilling to do that they could potentially give him a car worth $10,000 and it would also be satisfactory. Perhaps a certain 2016 Mazda CX-5.

And while the dealer is trying to make it right for Fredricks, he’s still out of $10,000 and a car.

Pro-tip: if you DO get stuck with electronic traction control, know where the button is to turn it off. Sometimes, in certain situations, wheel spin can actually be your friend.

I get you were making a joke, but everyone outside of Harley (hydraulic lifters) and BMW (on their boxer motors) basically charges an arm and a leg for valve adjustments.  It was $800 on my Triumph.

They’re still going to charge an arm and a leg for desmo-diode adjustments.

Is it though? I’m all in favor of products that allow people to ‘scratch an itch’ while still driving a car that is, frankly, a far better fit for them then what they think they want.

This is the kind of vehicle I see slow down to 5mph to drive over railroad crossing.

Don’t you just strap a full size spare to the roof rack along with the extra gas cans and ladder jack? Who buys an “overlanding” rig and wants the spare hidden in some stock location. Hell, strap it to the hood so everyone can truly appreciate your commitment to off-roading cosplay.

I am babysitting a ‘66 Econoline pickup “EPup” for a friend and it is so fun to drive around. 3 on the tree with the bigger 6 cylinder. I believe he paid $8k in 2020.
