That makes me wish I hadn’t been turned away by other riders when I saw one for sale for $3,000 a couple of years back. The CBX remains an all-time dream motorcycle of mine and I’m still kicking myself over not getting one when they were cheap. :)

Holy crap, it really sounds like F1. I chatted with the owner of one at Lime Rock while he burbled along at walking pace, which didn’t really prepare me for this noise.
That sounds like a whole lot of people having a bad day and no patience turned into a whole lot of people having a bad month.
If only they made a version to kick-up my serotonin for the winter...
I doubt it. I would say that the majority of Americans don’t have access to reasonable public transportation. Like, I have to walk past work to get to the nearest bus stop to my house.
What sucks for so many poor people that are getting priced out of the used car market is that they do not live near any public transportation and would really struggle with an unreliable used car and they do not have the skills to get a job to afford to live in an urban area that has public transportation.
If someone has a second vehicle that they don’t really need then now is the time to sell it because my god prices are bonkers. I keep contemplating trading in my Elantra for a new one because it’s silly what I can get for it.
As if US trucks are mostly lifestyle vehicles.
bed with flip-down sides–which seems like it should be an option for every pickup that wants to be a serious work truck
It’s also got wheels, windows, doors, etc! Save a bundle vs a Rivian!
That $15,000 is a downpayment on a similar amount to make this worth about . . . maybe $15,000 once restored, repainted, refurbished, whatever term you want to throw at it. This is somebody who imported it for the specific reason of reselling it at a premium. Sort of like flipping houses for profit, with cheap “new”…
I know these are your words and not the sellers, but I really feel like he should lean into the Rivian comparisons here. It’s a truck! It has a bed, and seats! Just like a Rivian!
I completely agree. Life is too short for boring cars, and if you live in a place with the right weather (seems like you do), a Slingshot is anything but boring.
Seems like he really should have a Morgan 3 Wheeler.
Dude in my neghborhood has one of these; but what always makes me do a double take is the Eric von Zipper get up he wears when he’s tooling around in it….I think the scarf takes it over the top.
I read this whole comment as discussion of various members of your family having manicure skills and was confused.
Sikaflex.
I think J-B Weld should be an article unto itself, maybe a whole day of articles and a slide show of successes and failures that seems infinite. (-;
I once owned a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix (don’t judge....) where one of the (many) pieces of plastic cladding developed a 6-8" long crack while on a road trip from NJ to FLA.
JB has been an absolute lifesaver for people in my rally team. One guy got a massive hole in his oil pan on his Accord. He patched it up with Steelstik then drove some 1,000 miles home.
