What a great race. I was there at turn 1. Cool to see Herta, who is from Santa Clarita like me, win the race. Those cars sound so good in person. https://youtu.be/EQ06jjvydPI

151 hp is very good for an NA 1.8 from the 90s

The last Capri !!!!!

Great opportunity to own something weird. I actually kind of dig that its a KIA engine, they’re probably easier to work on and more reliable than an Isuzu Turbo, though early KIA wasn’t the best. Anything post ~2000 was mostly reliable, especially if it was a Hyundai sourced engine (that 140HP 2.0L I4 was bulletproof).

Really wanted this to be a NP but it’s just not there. The taillights are horrible and I’m guessing the new top was needed because someone slashed the old one to get in there and steal the stereo and bust the lock on the glovebox. That might even explain the damage to the passenger-side seat.

It wasn’t all that long ago that an M100 could be found for this sort of scratch, but for some reason, decent Elans are now asking $20k+ (USD).

In its day, this was said to be the best handling FWD car ever made (I’m sure the Integra guys will dispute that). I wonder why Kia would spend all that much money to buy the tooling for the Elan from Lotus and then only build 1000+ from it. I guess it didn’t have the uptake Kia was hoping for. I believe also that the

It was a lot of fun. First time attending in person despite living 25 minutes from it for my entire life.

if someone behind lando crashed out and caused a safety car...it would have been landos race

sucks for lando....the gamble could have easily gone his way....its a miracle no one caused a safety car behind him before he almost did

If you need a pole position to get closer to the pole, make sure you’re grounded to the ground.

I think that most youth who grow up participating in fields like motorsports do tend to have a greater appreciation of the dangers involved than most of their peer group would. You don’t get to the level they compete at without having spills, close calls or otherwise navigating the dangers inherent in what they do

I’m conflicted on the fact that kids are allowed to race at this level. they are too young to really understand the risk/reward tradeoffs inherent in racing.

I’m sad for his parents, siblings and friends.  at least it was likely instantaneous for him.  their pain will never end.

You and everyone else.

welp...thats definitely not the starting order i predicted this morning...

This pleases me. Grosjean has a ton of heart, and I wish him all the luck in the world.

We need to give Dale Coyne a thumbs up for bringing Alex Palou and Grosjean to American racing.

What if the Haas is a difficult-to-drive piece of shit?

Doesn’t surprise me one bit.

I just got my car serviced a couple of days ago and was shocked how empty the dealer lots were. The Mazda dealer only had a couple of each model and some of their incoming cars were already spoken for with people who contacted the dealer ahead of time. The Porsche dealer said they had only 1 new car and 4 used on
