Welcome Steve...How long do you have until you’re forced to post slideshows?

Welcome Steve. You’re WRX take is indeed preposterous, but it wouldn’t be Jalopnik if we all didn’t believe in something completely insane, like Torch’s belief that anthropomorphic cars should have their eyes be in their headlights. Dying on pointless hills is good and people should do it more often.

Agreed, it’s just boring. The “classic” livery may be seen by some to be very midcentury modern but I always thought it looked great, and it’s certainly distinctive. I’d also argue that it’s become iconic over ~50 years and shouldn’t be changed.

Derp

It’s not like the Trump proposed livery had the Punisher sticker on the tail and Pepe in the presidential seal. Straight lines on a curved object just look a little derpy.

At first, I was like, “I mean, I guess the weird tent is a bit incongruous, but does that really merit a Torch-Burn™©®?”

Yeah, this is one of those come-outs where I hear it and go ‘oh, yeah, that makes complete sense’. Not one so predictable that I thought it was obvious or already happened, just one that’s entirely unsurprising.

Decided she no longer preferred the P.

When I worked in an Army ground vehicle prototype shop we had a couple of their earlier Ripsaw models in for evaluation. They were a little janky then, but it looks like they've matured the design quite a bit since that time.

Just to clarify, the bidding for the Howe & Howe Ripsaw EV3-F4 (not the G.I. Joe toy) was at $130k…I’m sure it’ll go for much more.

A few extra details from the Diesel World story:

Zombie Apocalypse tool kit. Needs more Mini Gun

That will garner an extra markup because it’s even more of a special order

It’s a shit move on these dealers but ultimately the buyer has the choice to “take it or leave it”. Smart thing would be to “leave it” but the dealer knows that there’s going to be another guy lined up right behind to “take it” directly up the ass. We live in a world of instant gratification; gotta have it now no

I love cars and have since I was little. But that said, there has never been a car or truck that I was so horny for that I would compromise principles and finances for it. At the end of the day, it’s still just a car.

And as long as the franchise model enjoys monopoly protection against direct-to-consumer sales, nothing will.

Based on current franchise laws, I assume the best thing that could be done is people refusing to pay, report the charges to Ford, and then hope Ford lowers allocation to those dealers on future hot models.

OLIVER! ❤

I loved that show. Mini-rip!

They had a show a while back “Howe & Howe Tech”. They built a lot of interesting machines with interesting uses. Even though they couldn’t talk explicitly about it, they did mention getting a contract for a movie vehicle that was clearly the Fury Road job even though the delays put its release back after the second
