We don’t like rear visibility anymore, because cameras and screens. The Chevy Camaro may die off, but it’s coffin-like visibility will live on in other rigs.

I did that with my WRX. However, I was ordering it new and I had always wanted one. I had driven a previous gen WRX so I had an idea what I was getting into. Hell, even if I hated it, a 3 year old WRX goes for about $3k less than new, especially if it is not modified.  I would never buy used without a test drive.

“sticks make slow cars feel fast”  I’m not sure who first said that, but I have had a few cars where this was true so given that this van fits the same bill, this thing would be a blast to bop around town in.  Trips to the Depot or Lowes would be super easy and picking up a whole soccer team... while maybe not fully

This price seems pretty low compared to other vans that seem to fit the whole #vanlife movement. I’m not really sure why some old vans are $30k and this one is $6k, but I’m going to go with NP.

Only reason that NP isn’t winning is because the reliable, manual shifting long roof is not brown.  Sure, it might not be capable of burnouts, but who cares?  This is a van-lover’s van for sure.  Totally worth it.

I don’t think it’s a secret that I’m an absolute sucker for 80s Japanese imports, and this is no exception. This would make a great little hauler, and at a totally reasonable price for something interesting and even mildly practical.

Hell yeah! Looks modern even at this advanced age and stands out, the price isn’t too stupid, I like the blue and the wheels are cool.

Now playing

Ha. Ice speedway. Guys have to wear armor to protect them from the wheel studs (5cm/2") and the bikes don’t have neutral. So those bonesaws continue chewing when they crash.

I set it to vibrate and keep it somewhere more...personal.

Same. I find if I hand copy the directions on a scrap of paper I have a better chance of remembering them.

Survivor bias. The ones who have been killed (and there are plenty of them) aren’t around to tell you their bad opinions.

Found the person with cloth seats...

It’s called a hand brake, and it’s for turning rotation.

...and old cars weren’t built to use synthetic. Synthetic is too thin and will leak out of the engine.

You can still find people who think it’s safer to drive without your seatbelt buckled because “you want to be thrown clear in an accident.”

Another oil one- once you put synthetic in a car that can take conventional oil, you can never put conventional in again for some reason.

Excessive “warm up.” Remote start has made this habit worse. It’s really an unnecessary waste of fuel and emissions. I’ve seen a few non-car people still “pump the gas” before starting an EFI car, eyeroll.

The biggest myth is that women somehow notices what car you drive. In reality women no more notice or care about the car you drive, than you notice or care about what brand handbags she is carrying.

Several myths come to mind:
