I open quicksettings using that shortcut. That way I can always change my brightness/wifi/about any setting with a (long)press of a button.

In most cases programs that do a lot of different stuff are worse at all or most of them than the focused on a single thing program. Have never tried Miro though, but I think I'll keep my utorrent, foorbar2000, VLC and torrentz.com/isohunt.com combination for all the things this program can do.

That's kind of the point of new versions. Fixing problems in older versions. It's your phone's manufacturer/carrier that's the problem, they don't update the OS.
