@Sidetalker: Exactly, I only remember I have it after pressing the shift key 3-4 times in a row. In my case mostly when trying to type a serial code for a game or program (if it doesn't support ctrl+v)

@lucasway89: To be eligible to enter the Contest, you must be: (1) a legal resident of and physically located in either the 50 United States or the District of Columbia, Canada (excluding the province of Quebec) or the United Kingdom
@PinballFan: My problem is that I don't want roaming charges when on holiday in an other country, so I would like the feature to cache the maps of the cities I would be visiting. Places I've already been would be a useless thing to cache
@Ghostnappa9001: What phone are we talking about? Because I've never heard of one with that problem.
@chirag2k: I don't want to be an asshole, but if you bought that one you brought it upon yourself. Read a review before you buy a thing for which you pay a lot.
@Ghostnappa9001: one word: rooting
@WestwoodDenizen: What's the difference then?
@WestwoodDenizen: I only had the HTC Sense non rooted Froyo, and it was in there. In my rooted version of stock android 2.2 the option is under: Settings — Wireless & networks — Tethering & portable hotspot(right under bluetooth)
The whole lifehackerteam doesn't have a phone with 2.2? Even if you have one of those without official updates, why don't you root them?
@jesseg: I use it all the time to quickly open quicksettings with a longpress, change my brightness and all the other setting you can think of
@WestwoodDenizen: yes it does, but only in froyo
@WestwoodDenizen: HTC offers normal tethering included and Froyo has wireless tethering built in.
@funnyfunnyfunny: Exactly the movie I was thinking of. It is one of the most unscientific movies i've ever seen, but the shampoo was funny
@kdawghomie: the thing about the alpha constant not being the same everywhere in the universe
@TheNobleRobot: 5x5? use launcher pro, using a Desire I have 5x7
@QLAB: Exactly what I was gonna say, Launcher Pro Calender Widget beats the shit out of the Sense one, except that I would have shown the agenda view, because that actually shows anything
@PinballFan: Voice Search works in almost any language right now. It's Voice Actions that only work in English.
Isn't that cute? The Dutch have entire bureau dedicated to antennae.
I use the launcher pro calender widget. It just uses google calender for all the info
@Duffin: That's right, but the root version allows them totally to be on the SD. But if you don't want to root I understand that. I just did it because of this and a couple of other things I wanted to do but couldn't, like blocking ads in apps.
