Well, I use the app all the time.  Everyone has different preferences and values things accordingly.  When it’s winter and I get out of the shower, it’s nice to remote start the car so it’s warm when I leave/has defrosted the windshield/etc.  (There are many other ways I use the app; that’s just one example.)

This is the exact same thing that happened in comic books in the 80's and 90's, with exactly the same result.  Those who refuse to learn etc.

And remote start/unlock via the keyfob should absolutely not require a subscription fee. The app requires a cloud back end even if you’re standing right next to the car, so yeah, a subscription service makes sense.

This right here.

It’s great for nostalgia I suppose; it reminds me of iffy Limewire downloads.

This is hilarious and I am totally stealing it.  Take your star!

EXACTLY!

Again, you’re looking at everything from your requirements.

I mean, if you “imbibe” Asimov and come out of it fearing robots will all turn against us, did you really understand Asimov?

The insecurity is your incessant need to take shots at iPhone users. It’s not a fucking cult. The walled garden aspect is a feature, not a bug. It has absolutely nothing to do with a lifestyle. I don’t want a glitchy phone that can sideload apps, install new bootloaders, etc. Shit like that is what I use my PC for.

What can they actually do?  They’re prosecuting him for everything they can get him on, but it’s not like they can wave their hands and make the Electoral College system go away.

Mitsubishi, at least as a car company.

Came to say the same thing.  That statement makes no sense whatsoever.

I don’t know how many people in the US even know they exist anymore.

There’s literally one in this comment thread.

Thank you for writing such a thoughtful response.  You sound like an excellent teacher!

Fair enough!

Yeah, I figured this was a Brit/US thing as soon as I saw “sellotape” and “Hoover.”  The brand everyone is, um, stuck with here is Scotch tape.  And we just call them vacuum cleaners.

Yep. Customers are just part of the financial equation. Shareholders are what matter in this fucked up system.

Keep with it.  It gets better and better.
