I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree. At least, I haven’t seen a $500 TV with decent peak brightness. Cheapest I’ve seen is something like the Hisense U8H, or whatever TCL’s equivalent is. And thanks to FALD/mini-LED, you even get decent blacks (though not OLED-level, obviously).
In fairness, no $300 TV really has the peak brightness necessary to deliver on true HDR. (Neither does this 16K behemoth...)
