Lots of (IMO) valid reasons to criticize the Chibnall era, but I found the black Daleks with the red LED lighting in Revolution of the Daleks badass as fuck. Shame we’ll likely not see them again.

Right? One of the best things ever produced, until Sim lost his mind and the whole thing devolved into nonsense.

Stand -- I say -- stand aside! Make way, that is! You don’t -- I say -- you don’t want to find yourself looking at the business end of Seersucker, my black sword! Fearsome, that is.  Pay attention, boy, I’m not talking to exercise my jaw muscles.  (Nice kid, but he has the attention span of an overripe grapefruit.)

I mean, OK, but this is what everyone is doing.  You have to use Disney to watch Star Wars or Marvel. You have to use HBO Max to watch DC.  And so on.

And now the only way to watch ANY Star Trek that you don’t physically own is to subscribe to Paramount Plus or buy it by the season or episode on a platform that has the right to yoink that content at any point.

YANA

It is not.  Bizarre.

I just watched it for the first time last year.  Holy shit, what a show!

John Adams was marvelous! Paul Giamatti just killed it.

Strongly agree.  I wasn’t thrilled when I first saw him, but holy fuck was he fantastic.

I certainly hope that’s the case!  4K/HDR Who would be fantastic!

Who hasn’t aired in 4K/HDR anywhere, as far as I know. Until the somewhat-recent change in cameras/lenses, it wasn’t even shot in 4K. I believe the cameras now have the capability, but I don’t know if they’re using it; in any case, the show is edited and composited at 1080. Perhaps that’s changing with RTD; I dunno.

Well done, sir.  Take your star.

This is some profound shit.

Came to make this exact post.  Take your star!

I have pilot’s wings from Eastern Airlines.

No; ThinkGeek actually had cool shit.

The number of business leaders that don’t understand the sunk cost fallacy is staggeringly high.

Having personally witness the kind of abuse she’s describing, I would say this sort of turnaround isn’t uncommon. An abused person in a relationship often wants everything to just course correct and become normal, and when the abuser promises all sorts of things, the victim will grab onto those promises like a life

I have to wonder whether GWB would have gotten into Yale if he wasn’t a Bush
