It’s honestly becoming more of an issue because modern 4K TVs do more and more processing of the image.  But it does sound odd that this one game in particular is such a problem.

Input lag is not uncommon on TVs; that’s why they have a game mode, which disables much of the processing, etc.

Sounds like more of an issue with YouTube (and a side effect of Google’s pissing match with Amazon).  I haven’t had any of my streamers remove an app I use, so this really hasn’t come up for me.  Nor, I suspect, for the majority of users.

I mean, fair enough, but for “just streaming” I’ve never needed to sideload anything. This is even more true when I travel. But in general I’ve never really looked at a Roku (or AppleTV) and wanted to add anything not available in their std. app stores. Or on my Shield Pro, for that matter.

Disagree, depending on your use case. If you use Plex or Kodi (or something similar), only the Shield will give you lossless audio passthru. Also, the Pro can run a Plex server (with hardware-based transcoding).
