This.  Went through some health issues a couple of years ago and my back yard got overgrown.  The local municipality issued me a ticket, with dire warnings about what would happen if I didn’t address it.

Had a ‘96 back in the day. Great family hauler. Only caveats are (A) don’t try to go up California hills with 6 or 7 adults, and (B) have fun working on it.

This is exactly how I feel.  Any one of the things you mentioned would’ve been dragged out for many episodes (or even a season) on any other Arrowverse show.  Yes, “grown up” is exactly how I’d describe it.

Yeah, and it’s full of the usual Arrowverse mistakes wherein everybody lies or withholds information for no good reason other than the plot demands it.

Honestly, the writing on Flash has been disappointing. And I promise, I’m not one of those people that rags on everything; in fact, I tend to be easy to please with my entertainment.
