The directing was top notch.  The music was top notch.  Still processing how I feel about the writing, but it was not at the toppest of notches.

There are a lot of people unimpressed with the way that the story has turned, but I absolutely enjoyed the execution - this was by far the best executed episode of the season, maybe of the series. Almost every shot was visually stunning. The pacing was sharp, the editing was sharp, the music was perfect. The emotions

For all this “This isnt the Dany i wanted” crowd:

I thought Qyburn turned all of Varys’s little birds to his side? It seems Varys’s only job now is to look shifty, hold his sleeves together, and hate on Dany.

I still can’t believe the show spent eight years treating the nobles’ infighting as a farcical distraction from the White Walker threat, only to reveal in the last few episodes that everything about the series’ mythology was a farcical distraction from the nobles’ infighting.

I don’t really give a shit if someone is trying the best they can to entertain me. I only care if I am entertained or not. I am, after all, spending money on a service to watch this show.

Oh, you sweet summer child. Imagine not knowing how to turn on your TV then blaming the showrunner.

Of course it’s their fault. It means they’ve been having shit settings on their TVs since they bought it. Imagine if you buy a fancy car, then it doesn’t run because you don’t know how to shift the gears. That’s on you, dumbass.

Wrong settings=/=wrong TVs, young Padawan.

What TheUnnumbereredOne said to you below. And in addition to that, D&D have to “half-ass” it considering that they ran out of book/source material, the original author has not been helpful and downright doesn’t seem to care in that respect, and having to balance a delicate act of pleasing the corporate bigwigs at

Watching even five minutes of one of the production docs, it seems rather ridiculous to accuse them of laziness.

People feel that they’re entitled to everything they want to see on the show, whether it be all the magical prophecies or direwolves or realistic depictions of travel in an imaginary continent but in the end it’s still a TV show that has to follow a lot of rules that TV shows have to follow, including what happens if

After last week’s episode, I’m just not invested in this show like I was before. The absurdity levels are rising, and the dramatic stakes are lessened. If the cop that was on Barry’s tail can be killed through a goofy happenstance of events involving a feral little girl and super gluing hands to a steering wheel, why

I think the point is that she’s cocky and arrogant because of her dragons and that she doesn’t think she needs to worry about anything because...dragons! It’s how her family ruled Westeros for ages. A lot of this season so far has been about getting her ass kicked in a hundred different ways and how she responds to it

Hader won an Emmy for this show, like 6 months ago.

This was explained a long time ago as Qyburn taking over his little birds. It’s almost as if impoverished children spies are transactional in nature and don’t feel any particular sense of loyalty to one master or another.

If you didn’t think GRRM and the adaptation were setting Dany up to be the Mad Queen then you haven’t been paying attention. She’s been impulsive, vindictive, and wrathful since she started down the path to conquering Westeros in S2. She’s only been kept in check by the wisdom of her advisors, and even then, it’s been

I have to say, I’m sure people will criticize the Daenerys’ mad queen arc if that is where things are headed, but this has been set up for seasons now, if not from the very beginning.

I was a huge critic of last episode but gotta say, I mostly enjoyed this one. There were obvious issues due to the shortened season length, but for the most part it was fun to watch and had more heart-wrenching moments than last week’s episode did. Euron’s attack on Dany’s fleet was fucking great - the flying arrows

So, I liked it. *shrugs*
