Sad that Top Chef is ending, has been one of few respites for me during this turbulent time.

I only know the food side of it, but I’ve hard a lot of the same problems exist on the journalism side. Like, getting a good job generally means you worked a lot of unpaid internships or horribly compensated spots to “build your resume” in a way that a lot of people just can’t afford to do.
malarkey still being here is definitely the ??? both him & leanne have been on the bottom a lot. stephanie has worried me the past couple episodes but this episode was a reminder that my boston girl is STRAIGHT FIRE when she isn’t doubting herself
I’m surprised they didn’t call him out when he said “I couldn’t get the same brand of curry powder” at judges table. The dish is so near and dear to him, you would think he would have his own spice mix formula for it by now.
Just here to say I love Stephanie. Gosh I love her. She’s got you guys and hey, she’s now a RW two-time winner!
Going in, I honestly thought Gregory’s team would get the short end of the stick, since only one of them had any real experience cooking Haitian food. Particularly when juxtaposed against Southern food. As it happened, Gregory had thought through so many of the pitfalls that it was downright impressive.
I’ve been pining for these recaps all season. Thanks for sharing this one, Randall!
Malarky annoys the ever living shit out of me, but I have to hand it to him, he handled the front of the house work with aplomb...and props to Gregory for seeing that and snatching Malarky up for that specific purpose. I was pretty floored when he did it.
Melissa is just the type of acquaintance who you would love to bump into out and about and you’d know she’d brighten up your day. I also just want to try her cooking the most out of everyone.
Thanks for the mid-season check in! Wish there was full season coverage but at least you can still cover the show in some fashion.
That could be what is happening here.
I think there was invisible ink? That’s why Saul broke out the special light...
Also, the insane AI was disappointing. I was hoping it would say some whacked shit or try to manipulate the situation but it didn’t come off as insane at all.
FSB would have people all over Carrie for her entire life in Moscow, and I don’t buy Yevgeny trusting her after only 2 years. The idea that she basically got her own asset who’d have intel like that after that short a time, and not be surveilled doing it is... highly unlikely. If anything its more likely that Yevgeny…
They canceled recaps in the middle of a two parter? That’s... an interesting decision.
I think the biggest thing that stands out to me is this format has forced them to be creative and not stick to what had become a very rigid formula. Every week had a political cold open, some other sketch devoted to current affairs, a game show sketch, etc etc. And they all leaned heavily on the cast just playing…
Sergeant, I mean Lieutenant Peanut Butter was a deep cut and I was here for it (and knew that the name-drop was not unintentional).
Have you rewatched earlier seasons? He’s always been like this, from the very beginning.
as to why Amy is in uniform w/different tasks than Terry: in the episode where she got her new command it was said that the P.D. didn’t allow married people to work in the same unit, so Amy was transferred to command the uniformed officers.
I thought the unknown protein was whatever Dolores injected him with when she had him committed? A tracker or something maybe?
