I had the sneaking suspicion those men were going to turn Haqqani in to G’ulom for the reward and the release of their compatriots, not least of all because Haqqani refused to take credit for one of their “biggest wins”. Isn’t it in the extremist handbook to take credit for everything?

I didn’t think about that, but yeah, that makes perfect sense (not sure about the Russian angle though)

Why are they still using polygraph tests?

Similar to Please Like Me, I feel like it’s somewhat of a cop out for them to basically have no financial stresses. I guess it streamlines storytelling but makes it less relatable.

I’m two episodes in and already seeing a lot of echoes of Please Like Me. I feel like it’s semi required watching for this show.

It’s simply the teeeest! Better than alllll the tests!”

I lol’ed at that and wanted it to go on longer. Wouldn’t have minded some West Side Story either.

Fair enough. Algorithms have come a fair ways since i finished my undergrad and dropped it altogether 10 years ago...

SETEC ASTRONOMY!

There’s no reason Son of Anton should be a black box. I imagine there are a lot of iterations as it perfects, but you should be able to track what it’s doing and its decision making process. AI would be pretty useless if you couldn’t debug it.

This reminded me of Community’s Season 3, which Ganz also worked on and had a lot of genre episodes while still advancing the storyline and characters. I wouldn’t be upset if they did more genre spoofs if they were executed this well. As a side note, poor Dee.

I more or less enjoyed the season and the finale, though your review has given me pause. I was sad to see Mel and Sue replaced, and thanks for the added context. Noel and Sandi are decent, but definitely a different flavour. Triggering Alice did seem mean. Incidentally, John Oliver was on Conan O’Brien’s podcast

Not sure if this has been commented on before, but there are rumours that Henry and Alice are dating. I have noticed that after the technicals and at final judgement, they pretty much are always sitting beside each other (while the seating order is otherwise different), and they have a few other interactions. They’ve

liquid nitrogen would also make things freeze faster, but again, i guess not keeping with them being home bakers

heading for HIMYM territory at this rate

Definitely just read that in a Holt voice in my head

What is that from? Some always sunny episode I don’t remember?

agreed. it didn’t hit anything at all. like all men, he protected his junk, but the ball didn’t actually contact anything. if you look at the replay, he snaps back to action immediately without any ill effects.

In the books, nothing Tywin says shows that he knows Shae is in his bed, or that he is sleeping with her. There’s a somewhat popular theory that Varys planted Shae in Tywin’s bed unbeknownst to him. That Tywin isn’t actually a hypocrite at all and wasn’t sleeping with Shae. And related to this, that Oberyn had already

Great episode, but my favourite part was the lento drum roll.

came here for this joke
