Holy crap, what a mess. I’ve always been a bit more of a DC fan than a Marvelite, so I began by being filled with hope at each new movie announcement - now I always dread them, because almost inevitably, it’s something bad. Every article about how DC is going to try to right the ship is followed by a dozen more about

The picture kinda says it all.

I love that.

Charlize Theron, ideally. Sofia Boutella would be another good choice. Maybe Elizabeth Olsen, or Katee Sackhoff.

For a while I thought that Neuromancer was too much of its time, and maybe shouldn’t be adapted. But after thinking about it, I realized that at heart, it’s a classic heist story. It may not quite end up being cyberpunk as we knew it in the 80s, but that’s actually okay.

I think this is just one of those situations where there’s no clear good guy or bad guy. It would be satisfying to call Disney the villain, but they seems to have some good reasons for this decision, backed up by the Henson family. Or you could simply paint Whitmire as an impossible diva who only cares about keeping

My big fear about killing off an Avenger goes like this: Say Chris Evans says he’s done. OK, they go with it. Write a story around Captain America living his creed by pulling off some magnificent self-sacrifice.

While I would have loved to see that, Burton’s Superman movie with Nic Cage would have had Christopher Walken as Brainiac.

I like this because it seems like it will be dealing with my favorite aspect of superhero stories: the Why. You’ve been given a great gift, you could use it for your own benefit, or simply ignore it — why would you risk your life using that gift to help others? It looks like this will be all about that, and about how

Bae is an acronym for “Before Anyone Else”.

Didn’t Dragonriders of Pern come withing a dragon’s whisker of being a show a few years back? It feels like a Pern series would be a license to print money these days.

My absolute favorite: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0043T7FXE/ fine control with just your thumb, while the rest of your hand rests on top. No strain whatsoever, and I find it super fast and accurate.

Hear hear. They really got this right. I’ve been advising people to check it out (Kickstarter backer, so I’ve seen some already), and I’ve had to try to refrain from gushing so I don’t put people off.

I wish someone would make a better version of Sphere. I loved the book, but the movie was really disappointing, particularly considering the talent involved.

They say there’s a growing fear and hatred of clowns, along with the belief that they’re “not cool,” largely perpetuated by the media.

And that was the point in the trailer where I rolled my eyes and decided I could wait to see this at home, if at all. I hate to be that way, but come on. We’ve just seen it so many times. Even if it features tropes we’ve seen before, isn’t there something that makes this film different and special, that could be

I’ve been rewatching Voyager. He gets a lot better. (Not as soon as I would have liked, but it does happen.)

Perhaps someday, this will be the kind of job an AI will do. Feed it the film, the CG models, and the DVDs to use as a guide, and let it figure out the editing.

I loved the way The Lego Movie did this. They just took extra audio from the actors that didn’t have anything to do with the film and created animation to fit it.
