Yah, I have zero problem with the vids. Honestly, I probably won’t play the game, but I’m loving the vids for the character and world development aspect of it.

While Bliz is known for good stuff, do you think we’d be getting something like these vids if Valve hadn’t done the “Meet the” vids for TF2?

I meant instancing of art assets. You have 30 ships that are all the same model, the game engine can reduce its load by treating them all as one asset. I’m horribly oversimplifying the description of what it’s doing, but you get the idea.

A few things impress me to this day about EVE.

Nope, because it’s one more distraction, and one that encourages you to take your attention from the act of driving to turn the road into facebook / yelp. But some cutesy avatars and the feel-good-feeling of “helping others” makes that ok.

And when you start fiddling with it to ‘tell everyone else about that cop’ congrats, you’ve just 1) broken the law and 2) made it extremely unsafe for yourself and everyone else on the road.

I also have a HUGE problem with people fiddling with their phone while driving. A radar detector is a hands-off / hands-free item that gives a visible and audible warning.

Except Waze isn’t updated enough and is a horrendous battery hog with a less than stellar UI for use while driving. Combine that with the fact that police have been known to place false reports of cops in to mess with users and it’s a far more fallible system than a good radar detector.

It’s weird working down the road from their factory. I see enough of their cars around that I consider them boring to look at.
