It’s not really about preserving jobs, it’s really about equitably redistributing the productivity gains of automation. Instead you have a host of rentiers inserting themselves as middlemen into every single stream of the economy and requiring you to pay to work for it. David Graeber captured well the inherent

So they’ll take reservations for the truck that’s 50 years behind schedule, but you can’t order a 3?

Just b/c a job relied on a bad thing doesn’t make it a good thing. Jobs are not the only yardstick in this life.

No looking at alternatives, no studies, no gradual transition.

as they predict workforce cost reductions.”

Remember in the 50s or 60s and people talked about how the future would result in robots taking all the jobs and we’d be able to spend all this new free time on passion projects because the work week was like, 8 hours long?

Y’all have predicted 12 of the 0 sub prime auto crisis over the past 7 or so years. Seriously, here’s an article I found, from all the way back in 2015: https://jalopnik.com/equifax-denies-sub-prime-loan-bubble-says-loans-improv-1686526590

Remember 2008, when everyone was unable to pay their mortgage? Feels familiar to me.”

People are going to shit on it and all the other screens, but I think it’s awesome. Who wouldn’t want a wide screen monitor to play video games or watch something while you’re being chauffeured around?

Why not just use a camera-based rear-view mirror like some other luxury cars have begun doing?

Same here in Indiana, I’ve have good experiences.

I’ve had AAA since I was 15. It’s always worked for me. Plus, here in SoCal don’t discount the value of the DMV services. My time is money, so one DMV visit pays for my membership essentially.

I’ve used AAA service numerous times here in the Bay Area and they’ve always been great. One time it was New Years’ Eve, and the tow truck came within half an hour. Another time we were in San Diego Sea World and had a flat tire. The guy who came out took the wheel with the flat, and went to get it patched and then

This must be a recent thing. I had used AAA towing on numerous occasions, and also used them to jump a dead battery and opened a locked-in car. They were always prompt. Now to be far, all of these instances were >10 years ago. Did they change something in recent years?  These stories seemed to have cropped up this

I have used AAA quiet a few times and they always been great. Usually very fast and efficient.

It probably depends on location.

It’s also by far, the most useable and “normal” Lamborghini ever. I mean, it’s built on a VW groups corporate MLB Evo platform and uses a high output version of VW groups corporate 4.0L V8. Why is everyone so surprised that the best selling Lambo is actually a angularly styled Q7/Cayenne in drag? Thats all a feature,

Exactly. Car that your whole family can ride in will always sell better than a 2-seater. A coupe is a limited demographic or use case.

How is this “shocking”? I distinctly remember all the Jalop commenters predicting exactly this result when it was announced.
