1. That’s why Elliot used the term “hypersexualized”. Rockstar took two already sexy characters and dialed that sex factor up to 11.

This is great journalism and excellent work overall. I know this kind of reporting takes a lot of effort and I really appreciate that Kotaku continues to report on issues like these.

I knew one of the guys called out and fired here, not well, but I knew his circle of friends much better. There is something to be said about the types of men in the gaming industry who do this, and the ones specifically called out, many of them were known for curating a social circle of being “cool” and “popular.”

The Ubisoft worker was encouraged by HR to “talk it out” with her harasser.

Look for pillars of smoke in the distance. They mark the locations of HR camps.

Before anyone starts whining that “He was just cheating on his wife, sure that’s bad, but why is he being fired for that?!”, a couple of points:

There are always people who enjoy watching assholes because it makes them feel vicariously powerful. He’s their id. He gets to be the loudmouthed fuckbags they wish they could be, if only they had the power and the platform to do the same.

Those “pie in the sky aspirations” like universal health care are all things the overwhelming majority of the planet has as a basic fact of their lives.

They’ll only remain “aspirations” if conservatives and Centrist cowards keep running away from it.

...Transparent? Really?
You know they got the spotlight shined on them for silencing people who brought up their war crimes and a contest that just took you straight to a recruiting page, all for a chance to win a “free xbox controller”, right?

They’re not transparent, they just got caught.

They’re not transparent though, when people starting asking them about war crimes they got booted.

I kinda get a giggle nowadays thinking back to time where No Man’s Sky had stolen so many people’s money, and that everyone should back Star Citizen, because it was totally being funded by the gamers and wouldn’t leave them hanging.

How are you supposed to have an effective meeting if you don’t have a meeting to come up with an outline for the agenda?

Which is a pretty long time but far from unheard of when we’re talking about developing a brand new, very ambitious AAA game from scratch.

Meanwhile, No Man’s Sky comes out, fails in public spectacularly, only to very publicly improve over time until it delivered on its promise or players.

Chris Roberts leads development on a space sim that promises to be everything you’ve ever wanted, then goes way over-budget, gets delayed year after year, and in the meantime, they put out a dogfighting component to allay the anxiety of fans.

The Last of Us Part I and II came out in the timespan Star Citizen was since announced.

More like a roadmap to a roadmap for the roadmap.

Alex Trebek: “Star Citizen, Half-Life 3, Winds of Winter, Doors of Stone, functional American politics.”

Did they just... roadmap their roadmap?
