It is a hard job, it is a frustrating job, and humans in general can be counted on to screw up. So I’d love to see more psych testing for police, longer training periods, longer unarmed stints on the road.

In the Military police 1 in 3 of us were given field medicine classes. Everyone was given basic first aid (yes there is basic first aid for gunshot wounds).
