Of course it's possible. The US Navy popped a defunct satellite in orbit with a missile a few years ago just to see if they could do it.

IIRC, there have been points in the show where she's regretted her past actions, and I also think that they've had Fiona on a self-redemptive arc...taking on pro bono jobs, rejecting her old IRA chums/bosses, etc. But I can see how the original character setup was troublesome.

Someone I used to work with went to work for PETA a month or two ago. I didn't want to say outright to her "Do you know what you're getting into?" but I thought it was nuts. She's since told us that she had to get all new non-leather shoes and belts and eat her lunch in her car if she had anything with meat (she's not

The premiere was definitely the big setup show, so if you missed it, you might not get how the plots get set up. I think I'm going to at least keep up with the first few eps. It didn't have upbeat/fun moments like Burn Notice or Covert Affairs or Hawaii 5-0, though...I'm trying to remember if there was any

I really respect him for continuing to live a public life and all, but having seen this and seen him in action, I really wish that the reconstruction had included just sealing his lips because this is all I see.

I used to go by the Pentagon all the time and I think you'd need a lot (unscientific measure) of C4 very expertly applied (e.g. shaped into a directed charge and not applied via R/C airplane) to do more than scuff the side and/or break some windows. Really, it's probably more the latter than the former that'd be

It's interesting that Sesame Street is tackling this. If you've got little kids who watch PBS, it becomes pretty obvious that the different shows are programmed to match different subjects. It breaks out like this:

Yeah, Mozy is a backup system. I wouldn't ever consider it for synced storage like I do with DropBox, and I use both.

It's so cool when Giz editors troll the readers. #notcool

IIRC, rounds fired from grenade launchers need a certain number of revolutions (fired from a rifled barrel) to properly arm. That's why the docs weren't allowed to rotate it while they worked.

In Washington DC in the years after 2001, my neighbor (a Coast Guard helicopter pilot) was involved in development of an operational doctrine that would use Blackhawk helicopters like this to intercept and escort (and, presumably, shoot down if necessary) any light aircraft like private airplanes or other helicopters

These are just pie in the sky concepts from different manufacturers that don't actually reflect any specific requirements or requests, you know. IOW, they're just drawings. "Hey, look what we think a bomber might look like in 20 years!"

I'd be curious about what kind of scenario they think they could handle. A Stinger against a 9/11-esque attack is not going to be that significantly useful...one missile might pop an engine but it's not likely to blow the plane out of the sky.

If you're doing that, also make an effort to find one with detachable antennae. I bricked one 54G (with stubby little fixed ones) trying to install DD-WRT and found a replacement with detachable antennae, then installed $15 worth of 12" long sticks that really made a difference in how much signal made it to the other

Exactly.

You tellin' me I get to run the world?

Rossy's wing is jet-propelled, not rocket-propelled, and I'd say the biggest deficiency with it is that he can't self-launch. He's got to be carried to altitude before departing into controlled flight. I imagine he can't really climb much, either. Those little jets are good for maintaining forward momentum in level

I like the show but one thing that I've been a little annoyed by is that they're having Jim Parsons ramp up the animatedness of Sheldon. Sheldon used to be muted almost to the point of being monotone, which made his line-slinging all the more hilarious.
