This one should have been done a couple device generations ago for the entire lineup, including the cheaper models. The USB Type-C design was finalized over 4 years ago. They should have been using the Power Delivery specification along with it as well because PD predates even the Type-C connector.

In fairness, I realize I missed the first interior shot, black on black, when I made this comment. It looks fine. I’m not a fan of the screen, but that is the trend. It was the two tone contrast that I really disliked. Highlighting that fat upholstery panel is god awful.

Did they upgrade the graphics on the infotainment system and make it faster?  Did they eliminate the lack of touchscreen access while driving?  Otherwise, this looks sharp.

I’m hoping that the bigger younger brother in the wagon config fixes this. Whatever this is. So here’s to waiting for the new Mazda 6 ;)

Weird that they’d choose to copy one of the only unattractive Alfas in history.

These are some odd press photos.

That C-pillar / shallow rear window is straight off an MB or BMW Crossover. That’s why it looks weird on a regular car

Visually, it looks way too tail-heavy with that C-pillar.

I don’t think computers capable of rendering a C/D-pillar so large have been developed yet. Moore’s Law is crying in the corner.

Looks good in a dramatic way. But I still think the current Mazda 3 looks better. More balanced.

I was 100% team hatchback, but after seeing this one, I’m now 99% team hatchback. It just looks... off.

they just want someone to blame and Trump if their likely target.

Mary Barra? Yeah, Jalopnik has been covering this all day. It’s a big deal. This story was a story about a Canadian plant. Bringing up Trump with a change by GM that has more to do with EVs and Crossovers than with Trump and tariffs makes you look like a hack.

Glad to hear, actually - I like your attitude. The pendulum swings every Presidency - we went from a good-figurehead Obama (not very effective) to a dolt Trump (who gets shit done), and we’ll swing back again. It may be cliche, but I think the media stokes the hell out of the bashing, and they’re not helping things at

Probably safe to say you don’t want to buy any GM products built at these plants after today, right?

Like bail them out in 08 then offload the shares they took in the deal at a huge loss? And continue provides massive tax incentives?

I know that this Dias guy does not work in the factory, and hasn’t for decades. I *assume* he is making SUBSTANTIALLY more than any union worker in that factory. Further, I *estimate* that he will be no where close to losing his job after this plant closes, unlike some of those workers who just lost their job.

Note to self, do not buy any car made at this plant. Those dudes definitely are not going to be giving a fuck about quality control.

Can someone who knows about unions and corporate America and how this works explain this to me please? I do not understand how if a business no longer sees a plant as profitable and no longer needs the manufacturing is still be responsible at keeping it open at a loss? What am I missing here?

This sucks for them, don’t get me wrong, but hell of a fight to what? Get people to buy Buick Regals?
