The engines in most cars and trucks are reliable, and I drive manual vehicles so transmissions don’t matter to me. I’d take my Cayman over any American performance car hands down. To your point choices are very personal, I value reliability and performance. So in my case, Cayman, Taco, Miata. 

Why would the Japanese buy American cars? I live in America and own a German car, Japanese car, Japanese truck. There’s absolutely nothing the big three build that I want.
