It costs $250k+ in medical bills post retirement, there’s plenty of folks who don’t have that kinda money. Also, there’s parents that paid 100% of their kid’s college so they weren’t saddled with loan payments and could start off their career with a clean slate. This in turn means people end up working a lot longer

The illiterate use “literally” constantly, I suppose they think if they throw literally in the mix everyone will believe whatever they’re saying is correct/accurate. It’s stupid and fucking annoying

Bought the car for $23K OTD, so no I don’t think I made a poor decision. Ironically the reason I bought the car was because it didn’t have a CVT. And since I was using money from Dieselgate I had zero interest in another VW.

She wanted it as it has every bell and whistle you can imagine, the Platinum edition is a really nice car. Gets close to 40mpg’s on the highway and the hatchback has plenty of room for stuff. It’s a really nice car with a shitty transmission. It’s criminal that Ford continues to stonewall rather than take

I have a Cayman, we don’t need another sporty car. Also, although we both drive stick she wanted an automatic because Seattle traffic.

I’m shocked they’ve sold so many, given how fucked their transmissions are. My wife’s 2016 Focus has been in for transmission work three times in 25k miles, the car is a steaming pile of shit.

My Cayman does, I regularly make Costco runs with her

My daughter is a nurse, hopefully she works with quality doctors when she requires care. Who knows, maybe a physician with some self esteem? And I didn’t elect anyone, I was on a Green Card but did get through the naturalization process recently and will be sure to cast my vote. I’m not knee deep in equities as I

Heh, so you assume I’m old, rich, and look down on the masses. If my kids sport an attitude like yours I’ll go full AP on them, own your success. enjoy your history degree.

Shut the fuck up. Get a good education, work hard, you can eventually have a few nice things. Or, you can play the victim loaded with a bunch of snark living in your parents basement. Entitled asshole is not a good look.

It’s not that it makes sense. It’s not that I shouldn’t, I don’t know, buy literally any readily-available BMW instead.

I leased my Tacoma, the lease will end February 2021. I have 12k miles on it, so I might have 20k when the lease is up. I work from home and also drive my Cayman a lot, so I use the truck for truck stuff. The buyout on the lease is $28K, for a Tacoma with 20k miles on it I’ll definitely buy the truck at the end of the

I’m not surprised, when I bought my 2018 Tacoma it was obvious that you may as well buy a new one vs. a two or three year old model (price difference, $2k-$3k). It’s a damned fine truck IMHO.

Pretty broad generalization, I would know because I bought my wife a 2016 Focus hatchback Platinum. Our criteria:

We own a 2016 Focus Platinum hatchback, the car has 25k miles on it and has been to the dealer four times for the transmission. Still doesn’t work right, I’ve pretty much given up. I can’t imagine the car is worth anything now, due to the widespread reporting of the shitty transmission. If there’s no real class action

I get 20mpg with my Taco, I don’t consider that awful.

I owned an ‘89 Supra, if you drove it hard it broke down constantly, and yeah I beat the fuck out of it because “sports car”. Head gasket? MAF? Turbo? check check check, the thing was the least reliable car I’ve ever had in my stable. I’ve owned a MT Cayman for the last seven years and honestly can’t see why I’d ever

Lived there for 48 years, moved to the west coast 10 years ago. There’s no fucking way I’ll ever go back there in the winter, freezing your balls off isn’t charming, it’s retarded.

Elon lies/exaggerates all the time, Porsche doesn’t. So, my money is on the Porsche if it matters. And it doesn’t matter

I bought my first new car in 1985, a Renault Encore. It was inexpensive to buy and exceptionally reliable, the damned thing gave me zero problems for many years. When I was done with it @ 200k I sold it to my sister-in-law, she drove it free of issues for a few years then totaled it. Damned fine car.
