I gave each of my kids $1000 towards a car, they all said the same thing “you can’t buy a decent/reliable car for $1000".  True that, that’s where the part time job kicks in, also, here’s a wrench. 

The only thing they share is the well known failure of cooling systems etc. Until they make their cars reliable for the long haul I suppose they will need to rely on the leasing crowd.
