My kids live in a 'burb with excellent public transportation, a car is certainly not a necessity. When the time came for their first car I gave each of them $1000 and told them to save up for whatever they want (they have part time jobs). Oh yeah: title, insurance, gas, repairs are all on them too. Before I get…
Are they going to quarantine all 40 of 'em in one place? I sense a domino effect looming: when the first one catches fire, they'll all burn!! The event will occur within minutes (not hours) of storing the cars, hope there's a video of it
My first car was a '73 Beetle, I got it for free. I painted a dude's house and in return got the car for nada. Shoulda worked out expect the car was so badly rusted the entire floor fell out after 9 months, true Flintstone-mobile. I'm thinking why not barter for a car if you're scraping by?
Hope the new ones are reliable; my '89 gave me some expensive problems such as head gasket and MAF. The worst part was I couldn't source another MAF anywhere in the world, I ended up using a Lexus MAF and an outboard fuel computer.
