Ok, The Raccoon thing. Not exactly what happens to us, but very similar. We live in a rural area just outside a decent sized city. Two or three times a year one of the local animal control companies will dump whatever they caught in town at the end of our driveway. MOST of the time Raccoons are not too bad, the find

While it does seem out of place on Bring a Porsche these days, it is what the site was originally founded for. Special interest cars and trucks without all the ebay BS. I don’t get all the hate from guys who come in their shorts over the most boring JDM sedan or some piece of BWM that should have been scrapped 1o

Having owned two 95-98 Blazers, I can state with all firmness that you are totally full of shit. These we good trucks. And I DO mean trucks. These were full frame on body 1/2ton trucks underneath that curvy body. That’s why one that has been hit is not scrap metal, it is easy to repair and retains all of its structural

That’s regular fluid, I need the halogen grade for my car to go with the chrome muffler bearings I just installed.

Having owned multiple British cars with Lucas Electrical parts I have to call BS on this. Of all the parts that failed on my british cars, the only Lucas stuff I ever had to replace was a bulb or two. The German-made headlight switch in my Triumph melted and the American made ignition module in that same car failed,

Having seem some of the things this outfit built firsthand, I’d never own any of their stuff.  They make some “interesting” design decisions and the photos show this is no different.  I hope Jalopnik can keep in touch with whoever ends up owning this thing.  I’d like to see what’s left after a couple 1000 more miles

But did they fix the infotainment screen? You know, the one that is completely unusable in direct sunlight. Or indirect sunlight, or bright LED streetlights, or when there is a semi behind you it’s headlights on, or like 80% of the driving conditions you are likely to experinece?

Mary Roach’s book Packing For Mars talks about this in fascinating detail. She actually got to use the trainer that includes a video camera to help astronauts practice thier aim. Pretty sure that would not be a flattering view for me.

I’m seeing that coach-class single center armrest and getting PTSD. Seats “four” in Southwest cattle car sense, not the normal sedan comfort sense.

“every street legal cars brakes can stop the car at WOT”

Last winter I had to go about 40 miles on the interstate the day after a major winter storm. There were 2 Pickups in the ditch, 1 SUV, 6 sedans, 1 wagon, and 1 Semi.  This is pretty typical for what I see in these situations.  The real myth is that pickup/suv drives are responsible for most accidents in the snow.

I have pulled Subaru’s out of the ditch with my pickup on at least half a dozen occasions. I have never had to have my pickup pulled out. The light rear end is not really a factor if you have decent driving skills and have decent tires on the vehicle. Most Subbie owners around here have neither.   Don’t get me wrong,

I have tried this method a few times and was not happy with it. First it takes too long. Even with soft butter and hot pasts it takes forever compared to the milk method. Second, the leftovers are gross. I DO often use a bit more butter than called for to make up for the fact that we normally only have skim milk

My parent’s 1993 Grand Caravan. Functional, reliable (with the 3.3 Chrysler motor) and comfortable. My all time favorite vehicle for summer road trips. Would take 2 adults and 4 kids AND all the associated luggage anywhere a paved road exists, and on quite a few gravel ones too. Or you could pull the seats out and

While I am a big fan of loud horns on tiny cars, I can’t see how it helped that much in this case. The Miata was able to change lanes to easily avoid the collision.

Yeah, a friend of ours had the spare stolen out from under her truck while it was at the airport.  Unfortuantly she didn’t notice until a few weeks later when she had a flat.

Yeah, that’s what I though. Sprung for the e-rated 10 plys on my farm truck. Still had a flat caused by a particularly long screw that showed up when the county put fresh rock down on the road.  Have you ever tried to plug a 10-ply?  I gave up after breaking two tools and nearly my hand and had to haul the stupid

Having owned a few trucks, I can tell you it sucks. It’s bad enough having to crawl under the thing a few times a year just to check the tire pressure, but then, when you do need the spare, the winch that holds it up there will fail in some way that makes the experience even worse than it needs to be. Either it is

I’d be willing to bet the lid was taped shut, but the TSA cut the tape to inspect it and failed to re-tape it. Because the TSA.

Common /= good.  Surge brakes suck.
