Maybe you missed the guy's comment that Sony brags about how they can fit two games on their slow discs..... I bet odds are pretty good they're on the same disc. And really, what do you think you'd get for a copy of Bioshock from any game store these days? $2? Maybe?

Yes and no. We're starting to see optical take over for tape backups- yes, those still exist- and they are great for it. Lots of density, relatively cheap, and they last for decades without concern for durability. Blu Ray is alive and well for this market.

This surprised me, but the 911 C4S is actually a pretty decent match for the R8 V8, both in price and general performance. Is it just me, or were 911 Turbos cheaper than $135k to start, not all that long ago? That said- C4S does 0-60 in a famously-conservative 4.3 Porsche seconds, while the R8 does so in a claimed 4.4

Fragmentation sure is fun, huh Apple? :)

TXAA has to be enabled at the engine, I believe. And it's 6 series only.

Reading business opinion on Gizmodo is always an entertaining/frustrating part of my day, lol. I've come to try to read it as humor, rather than serious business talk.

3PAR was a necessity, that doesn't mean they didn't overpay after their comical bidding war with Dell. I'm sorry, but $2.4B for a company that generated a mere $195M revenue the previous year (and posted a net loss) does not make it a good acquisition. Just because you were basically dead to rights for high end

Well, it's not a $9B hole in their accounting. They actually cited $5B in accounting errors at Autonomy, the other $3.3B is a book adjustment to their goodwill. But at the end of the day, $8.8B has been written down in their books, which is quite a hit. But goodwill can do that to ya, it's just a risk you take when

Yes. I live in Washington, therefore, coupe it is. Convertibles aren't useful here.

Such a great song...... love the opening of Travelling Without Moving. White Knuckle Ride has such a fantastic video it's the one to watch, though.

"To celebrate its 20th anniversary Japanese communications company NTT DoCoMo put together an actual display, illustrating the the evolution of its phone line."

Touch screens are still a bad idea for cars. Knobs are king for tactile, distraction free secondary controls.

Hey guys, really looking forward to Absolution. It's been too long! A couple of questions.....

I think the lights being covered by camo really make a difference. I wouldn't panic until they unveil the car publicly. The rear light camo especially, they look HUGE in the photo he took, where they're almost certainly smaller (and probably very Boxster-eqsue) under those big old stickers. Just my $0.02.

Quite a few did, actually..... I'll have to dig up my 20 years of the F1 issue of.... damn, I think it was CAR. They had photos of a ton of the F1s at the event, and if memory serves, more than half had them. Probably sold some as retrofits since each car goes back to the factory for a full rebuild when they're sold

Yeah, exactly. I do think that past a certain power level, you're just not going to enjoy FWD anymore, but that level is probably higher than most people think. Most (read: all) factory cars are dialed in for understeer these days anyway, which FWD certainly doesn't benefit much from.

Exactly. The only complaint I hear about hovercrafts is that they can feel a bit floaty and disconnected......

I was under the impression that the squared headlights were an upgrade offered by McLaren, because the stock F1 headlights didn't have projectors for HIDs (note the projector housing on the outside of these headlights). This was a retrofit offered later by McLaren for owners to upgrade to. At least I think it was,

I'm not in the armed forces, but I want to echo the vote for Surefire. I've had quite a few flashlights, and it's the only one I'll carry in my car for emergency purposes (Lithium's don't die when they're sitting like AA or AAA's will, which is obviously clutch for occasional use lights) because I know that no matter

clearly they didn't get one of the sweet shirts they were giving out with a purchase of the game at the MS company store, either....
