When people tag their photos with too general a location, like “Las Vegas” or “Iceland” or whatever, it credits the photo to the arbitrary pin that’s dropped when you search Google Maps for “Las Vegas” or “Iceland”. I also have family sharing, and the main benefit is being able to pay once for the productivity apps and games my SO and I use.

Actually that’s exactly what it’s for. It’s expressly there so multiple people in your family don’t have to buy the same app. It being a video game doesn’t change that fact, and a hypothetical 3DS game doesn’t change it either.

I don’t believe you can tether your computer or tablet to your iPhone when using “the iPhone method”, because tethering uses the wifi connection of the iPhone, if that makes sense.
