I'm guilty of this. I have three girls and we were living in the neighborhood that Amanda Berry, Gina Dejesus and Michelle Knight were kidnapped from. My girls were the same age. I didn't feel that my children were safe anymore so we moved to the suburbs.

I don't know. The big appeal of Earth-2, for me anyway, was the fact we didn't focus on Supes, Bats and WW. I would have loved something along the lines of the heroes from the 40's being transplanted to the present (a la Per Degaton?). Then you don't have to worry about their ages.
