Maybe he’s looking even farther “North” like, maybe, the Rogue, Umpqua or Willamette rivers. California looks across our southern border with thirsty lust... Roll On, Columbia, Roll On!

PDX is repeatedly selected by travelers as the best airport in the US. Food, beer, the architecture, the light rail stop INSIDE the terminal (OAK and PHX, what were you thinking?). Hell, I’m sure, looks like LAX or SEA.

Don’t. Buy. A. Buick.

Every third mass of rolling metal in Portland seems to be a Subaru. There is a reason. Few modern Subies would considered “quirky” but don’t waste your money on these wet, miserable, occasionally icy and snowy roads on anything less.

Before someone asks why ODOT was blowing up whales, beaches are legally considered highways in Oregon. Most of these “highways” are now closed to motorized traffic but are still public property and remain the domain of the Oregon Department of Transportation.

WiFi for $4 more?

I’m pretty happy with my 2016 Subaru’s Eyesight system which incorporates most of these technologies right now. The adaptive cruise control alone is worth the extra $3k to me. If it still works at end of the three-year warranty, I’ll be very satisfied.

Attempting to magnetize stainless steel is a waste of time, unless, of course, it isn’t *really* stainless steel... Check your “stainless steel” appliances at home with a magnet. If it sticks, they ain’t “stainless”.

I’m an electrical engineer who designs power distribution systems for commercial and industrial facilities. Since these are limited to nothing larger than 20A circuits, #12 AWG copper wire and UL listed I’d have no problem using these in my home. Anything larger than #12 and wire nuts are really the only option.

Won’t happen. The bat has a lot in common with a golf club. The players want the bat to flex to impart more energy into the ball. But, golf clubs don’t use wooden shafts anymore and neither do the bats in amateur baseball. Ash, the preferred wood, is getting hard to find and MLB began using maple a few years ago. But

50 minutes from Sea-Tac to downtown Seattle via transit? Central Link Rail says about 35 minutes. 60 minutes from PDX to downtown Portland via transit? More like 38 minutes according to Tri-Met. I've ridden both systems and the transit agency times may be a tad optimistic at times but they aren't that far off.

This is especially true if the pre '80's popcorn has "silvery" or "sparkly" particles visible in the texture. You should always get a sample of older popcorn tested for asbestos before deciding whether to remove it or not. If it's firmly affixed to the ceiling, leaving it alone or encapsulating in place it might be

One tip to avoid buying new carpet is to carefully remove the existing stair carpet and reverse it, placing the lightly worn riser portions on the tread and the more heavily worn tread portions on the riser.

I'm also an electrical engineer and I agree that the NEC does not dictate the position of receptacles. While it may be a local practice or an electrician preference to installed switched receptacles "upside down", there is no Code requirement to do so. In some areas of the US, receptacles are customarily installed

Please call a spade a spade! A shovel has a straight blade and a spade has a pointed blade. Most garden "shovels" should more correctly be called a spade.
