I viewed the possibility of Manslaughter to be a good turn of events for those looking for justice in this tragedy. It means the jury doesn’t have to meet the stringent requirements of Murder in an all-or-nothing verdict (and possibly letting Guyger flat-out walk)...and Manslaughter can carry a pretty hefty sentence,…

And I’m sure the cops and courts would certainly agree that the castle doctrine could be used if Jean had walked into Guygers apartment and shot her dead...

The Castle Doctrine functions much like “Stand Your Ground” laws in other states, allowing a person to use “force (even deadly force) in the protection of a home, vehicle, or other property if someone attempts to forcibly enter or remove an individual from the premises.”

I was blown away when the judge read that shit off. Then the lesser charge bullshit. I just dont know about this now. This trial seem shady as fuck right now. The judge gave her team an out and/or a possible lesser charge?

So basically in Texas you can go into someone’s home and murder them, but as long as you can claim to be credibly confused, you can get away with it?
