“Terrible” may be the wrong word here as, over the past 40 years, I followed many drivers who never ‘made it’. They had just (barely?) enough talent AND money to make it into the top tier of racing, be it IndyCar, NASCAR Cup, F1 or the sports car scene. If they were truly terrible, they never made it a full season. T

While I may be watching the race online this year, I’ve gone the last 11 years strait :( , the race is fun to watch on TV as the people they have to announce it are very knowledgeable about the race and will tell all kinds of stories and make the experience worthwhile.

Have you ever watched a movie and had to listen to that guy tell everyone how nobody uses this helicopter anymore or those SEAL’s don’t use those tactics, pretty much telling anyone and everyone who will listen everything that is wrong with it? Yeah? Well, racing fans are much, much worse! I should know, I AM THAT

We need Dinner With Racers to investigate! They LOVE stories of con’s, crook’s and cheats!

I have always believed that if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

American’s need to remember that the laws in other countries are NOT as lenient as they are in the USA! Just ask Michael Fay! He thought he would get community service for spray painting cars in Singapore. Not! He was caned 4 times the a 1/2” wide by 4’ long rattan cane then spent 4 month in jail. OUCH! Lesson:

Guardians makes it sound like they’re preparing for an intergalactic space invasion! Or maybe the return of Heaven’s Gate in their true space traveling form!

I think one will replace all these, right?

I could not agree with you more! The cars should be so powerful to make professional drivers nervous, and Gentleman Racers piss in their driver suits. The best of the best are the few who can tame these wildly powerful beasts for 6, 12 and 24 hours.

Like the development ban, this only locks in the currently successful teams and locks out everybody else. Yes, they are expensive, so is F1. If you really want to save money and be environmentally friendly, reduce the on track team to 10 or 15 people, eliminate telemetry and limit any software based adjustments to a

I’m guessing you’re not an F1 fan...

Essentially, Phillip W. Pratt effectively invented the electric wheel-chair. We can now know who to blame...

I remember drawing one of these things in high school, during math class, on the back of the math book, back in 1985.... I think one of the designers found that math book...

The “Stars & Bars” is NOT the official flag of the Confederacy, that one looked a lot like the Union’s. It is the battle flag for the Army of Southern Virginia, and was carried into war by racist secessionist traitors aiming to kill northerners in order to maintain their “right” to enslave other human beings for

I’ve been loving the DPi class since it was announced after the ACO bailed on any convergence in prototypes, not seeing the writing on the wall for LMP1. My only fear is that DPi hybrid is going to have a similar cost structure and kill it early. GTLM/GTE have the same problem. Spec racing in LMP2 has been fun to

I think the is BMW’s plan to get those of us who have had 3/4’s for, like, ever, to move up to the 5/6/7/8’s.....  Or to Audi.....

You obviously didn’t make it to the last sentence. I love engineering. I’ve been a long time subscriber to Racecar Engineering and understated what you are saying. The goal of motor sports is to be the first one to the finish line. Great engineering alone does not do that. The current rule set does not allow a

Bradley, I love F1 and have been watching it since the early 1980’s, and I’ve been saying that since the new hybrid formula was first suggested! I saw a Williams/McLaren/Lotus going bankrupt when I saw how difficult and expensive these engine units were going to be, and that was not even considering all the aero

Now playing

Awesome! I can’t think of anybody I’d love more to see do this! I doubt Block’s retiring, just moving to something different.

This IS a tricky subject, but I disagree with what you are saying. On Saturday, March 22, 1986, the person who got out of the winning car was Bruce Jenner and that is how he was known by his family, to his team, his fans and the media and that is how the history books were written on that date, reflecting who he WAS.
