My teenage gf, who helped me cross over from boyhood to manhood (heehee!), was a huge Madonna fan, so I guess I have to give her a smidgen of respect. I actually saw an ancient video of Madonna playing guitar in her first band; she looked competent. Wonder why she didn’t continue that?
I would argue the opposite: One of Hillary’s big problems was TOO MUCH star power. The more she hung with Jay-Z, Beyonce & the Boss, the more she started losing. She basked in the bright light while middle America sharpened their axes.
IDK, sounds pretty “preachy” to me. Madonna used her sexuality throughout her career to sell albums and make a ton of money. So be it. Sounds like she’s the one not “owning” her decisions. Now that she’s pushing 60 and that formula doesn’t work so well anymore, it’s time to make everyone else feel guilty? I don’t.
Details.
It’d be interesting.
Did Bush receive such a briefing? If so, please link to it because the briefing pictured above is as vague as it gets. Zero actionable intel, IMO.
I’m pulling evidence from the briefing copy pictured above which says very little specific information. If there are other more specific warnings that Bush received, I’m willing to look at them. However, I notice that many of the dates on the briefing pictured above are from the 90's: (1993, 1997, mid-90's, 1998...) …
The intel briefings should come 140 characters or less.
If you’re blaming Bush for 9-11, then it’s fair to blame Obama for Orlando, Boston, San Bernadino...
Picking out moments where presidents had a little downtime is a dangerous game. Go to any right-leaning website and see them talk the same way about Obama’s golfing.
What would you have had Bush do: ground 87,000 flights per day because a briefing mentioned a terrorist wants to hijack a plane?
Trevanian calls that “The Mother Company.”
Trump is a used car salesman in that he starts negotiations by saying things so outrageous, by the time you and he agree on something, you’ve gone farther to his side than you expected to. He moves the middle. Example: he first said he wanted a blanket ban on all Muslim immigrants. Crazy, right? Well, then he…
Best comment I’ve read in weeks.
We’d have to change the Constitution.
Dangerous place to make this comment but: seeing money as some new god or ultimate goal seems to be more the pursuit of women these days than men. Gotta narrow that wage gap! Work, work, work. Forget kids and vacations. Work, work, work!
You make a lot of good points, though I would quibble with saying American schools are some of the worst in the developed world. My friend has taught 6th grade for 20 years; he used to love it, but recently seems very ready to retire. Two of his big complaints are (1) the increase in busy work/paper work and (2) that…
Money doesn’t equal smarts, but when was the last time the US president wasn’t a millionaire; if not before then after his term? The two go together like PB & J.
I’ll agree that Trump is probably not book smart. Many times during the debates with Hillary, he failed to make points when he had openings. As for business though, the guy earns upward of $80M a pop when he allows his name to be used on someone else’s building. Mind-boggling cash for doing, literally, nothing.
