Well your Ma shoulda taught your candy ass how to operate a welder.

You mean that $99 bike built by a 16 year old kid in the back of Walmart isn’t of ultra-high quality using the best parts on the market? I’m shocked!

I saw your comment coming: “(I know here come the mall crawler and nobody off roads these things comments, but perception and feelings sell SUVs not statistics)“

Calling something that will start in the $50k realm a LC would have really pissed off some people. The Sequoia has decent enough cachet.

4R

My guess would be they needed some extra room for the hybrid battery.

I don’t mind tools required to remove the 3rd row. Hopefully it’s not like the Sequoia with airbags on the seats so they’re also electronics and idiot lights when you remove!

RE: MPG- Probably better than your 4Runner

I we planning on buying a tundra replace my 4Runner. Now I’m seriously considering the Sequoia. But I need to see pricing and mpg figures still.

Yup, I had basically tuned out the current crop of fullsize SUVs and committed to running my 300k mile GMT800 Suburban to a million miles, but this certainly piqued my interest. I’d certainly lose the simplicity/servicability/rebuildability of my old Chevy’s simple gen 1 LS, but I could see my family rolling our newer

Quite honestly I vastly PREFER this approach of just using a partition rather than blocking off the space entirely (GM K2XX Tahoe/Suburban), that was just plain lazy and lost you space.  There’s no other place to put those third row seats in a solid rear axle truck.

Basically the Land Cruiser was built for international markets, including those where a really robust and tough vehicle are needed: think Australia and South America. The Sequoia was build for the U.S. where it didn’t need to be as tough and over built. Same comparison as the Hilux to the Tacoma.

Now that they share

There’s a big full size spare under there. And high belly clearance. So there's no room underneath for the seats. It's a trade for capability vs low flat cargo area. Or you just remove the 3rd row and get a flat floor.

Sequoia is Hybrid only. Which means batteries have to go somewhere. LX600 and GX isn’t. I’m willing to bet that this is where the batteries sit. (under 3rd row).

A solid axel is what you want if you actually go off road.

I thought that was weird too, especially since the 1st Gen had the same 5 link with coils this does. I'm not complaining as i prefer the 5 link but yeah, definitely not more modern.

Call me crazy, but I think the new Sequoia looks great! I can’t put my finger on why, but I think it is far more attractive than the new Tundra, Land Cruiser, and LX600.

I actually liked that line. It is not really that backwards if you look at the trend of trucks betting more “off-road-y” and “overlanding-y” in that the old IRS setups were crap off road and often inhibited the larger SUVs from being seen as more capable off road. (I know here come the mall crawler and nobody off

But I have sold just as many.

Because my eyes function.
