    I’ve had a very similar experience at my home. We have a few cars but my wife only drives the CUV (RX350). She likes the idea of a hybrid or EV, but isn’t into cars AT ALL. like literally I could swap the color of her RX and she might not notice. But she doesn’t want an EV that stands out.     Are you saying taxes aren't rational? 

    They can borrow to pay taxes. Or they can cash out some stock. Or they could set aside the stock when they get paid to use for taxes. Musk didn’t start Tesla he was paid in stock and doesn’t want to pay taxes on that income. Plenty of options that don’t shirk responsibility to contribute to the society they benefitted

    Musk wasn’t a founder of Tesla. He bought in later. So he would have to sell stock he bought or was given as income alternative payment for work to pay taxes on his earnings. Not sure I have any problem with that. 

    It’s jalopnik. No research was involved. He didn’t know until the comments. But he couldn't walk it back. And he couldn't directly admit that he did zero research. So what else could he do? 

    So how did the black marketing company get it so wrong? Why did they not share the same experience being part of a homogenous group?

    There’s no scenario where you’ll get a positive reception. Negativity drives clicks. Clicks pay. The end.

    If EVs become that popular, the equivalent miles per hour added to a single big gas station will take literally thousands of stalls. So maybe not small diner, but more like football stadium size dining.

    The Nissan leaf is $27-37k, versa is $17k. Chevy bolt is $31k, spark is $13k. 

    Every single high mile EV one ever seen written about had batteries replaced at least once. 

    If you look at a high mpg car like a Prius - the break even gets really long. Lots of cars with over 50mpg now.

    My big question: how much are they gonna charge for that charge? It ain't easy to top it off before dropping at the rental line. 

    I’m curious what the rate for charge will be if you return it low? Considering that you can’t conveniently just fill up in 2 minutes before dropping it off. And will they always be fully charged when you pick up?

    Agreed. Dcfc is never going to be cheap. Probably never cheaper than gasoline. That’s basically my comment.

    I know I used the wheel base... Bad example. It’s not so much the length. Although that’s a problem. It’s the width and length that combine to make it difficult. The LR 4 is pretty small compared to an expedition. LR4 is very similar in size to a 4Runner. It’s just a little bit shorter and narrower than the 4Runner.

    There probably no case where this will even out. Delivering very high load for short periods of time from the electric grid is incredibly expensive. And there’s no work around for that other than local battery storage and discharge to car. And that option is also very expense. Until batteries are damn near free it's

    Plenty of dealers sell cars that they don’t hold clean title to. I’m pretty sure I can find a news story in any state of that happening. Mostly used cars.
