Truck is a powerstroke f250. It’s a 2007. Probably one of the worst trucks that an American manufacturer has put out in a long time. I bought this truck thinking how bad could it really be? Well, I learned that it really can be as bad as they say. Hopefully this next week sometime I’m going to trade it in for a

It’s Not really about celebrating, it’s about surviving - and if you’re prepared properly - benefiting from market chaos. It’s about not having to worry about losing your houses, or cars, or your retirement. It’s about not being subject to economic disaster if you have medical condition and lose your job during a

You’ll have a blowup. If you actually act as you say. Some risks you have to take. Others you choose. The probability of not having a major melt down during your life is small.

How am I going to be an influencer if I can’t get one of the first broncos? I need it for my Instagram!

Your assumption of linear acceleration is not a valid assumption. Which is exactly what I said before; you’re comment suggested a misunderstanding of dynamic acceleration. It still does.

I don’t think you understand acceleration dynamics based on your conclusion that the higher speed at the 1/4 mile mark means faster acceleration after launch.

It’s not just Dave Ramsey. He’s the simplified version. But he’s not wrong. Taleb and Mandelbrot and others can provide you a deeper understanding if you care to learn more about why the non-ergodic scenarios (like borrow and invest strategies) that are often used here are wrong theoretically and destined for blowups.

Assuming your money always grows is... not a good assumption. Assuming it will grow in a linear way relative to your car loan is even worse. The simple comparison of long term market returns to car loan rates results in the classic mistake of knowing enough to think you’re right, but not enough to know you’re wrong.

I was with you until you said injectors. Injectors for my truck (I recently had to replace because two failed) - they cost $250 each and take a total of around 7hrs of labor @ $135/hr to do all 8. You could buy a lot of gas for $2,945. Injectors shouldn’t ever wear out if they’re well designed and manufactured. Mine

    Don’t they both have 5.7 v8s?

I think a side by side race might be interesting. Rolling start - like an on ramp and the Rav probably beats the Golf R wagon to the merge. No question it would outrun the current Golf R or Golf R wagon. C&D test is standardized. Rav4 is comparable to the current Golf R. The Golf R has a big launch advantage, but slowe

We just keep inflating that bubble with artificial low interests rates and giving way free money. It’s gonna be ugly when this hits.

Does the job pay so well it’s worth 150 mile drive every day, but not well enough to live close? That seems unusual to me, but I don’t know your situation. I can’t think of a scenario where I’d be willing to do that drive unless I was on the clock while getting paid very well to work in a remote worksite with no local

In fairness new ones get 21/27 mpg. Better than a lot of smaller cars. But he needs to be extra responsible and drop $90k on a higher trim to save $500 on gas.

You must be small or the wrx has really grown. Even my wife who’s only 5'10" couldn’t fit in front of a backwards facing car seat in an Accord. I guess if you’re a single parent it might work as long as you only use for local trips. Even then -why deal with the uncomfortable cramped car on a daily basis when there’s

You’re really butt hurt that the Rav is a better car for real world use than a kinda sporty wagon that so few people want it’ll probably be discontinued in a year or two.

13hp difference. Rav has over 100ft lbs of torque more. But it’s pretty heavy. It’s popular because it’s built like a Toyota and moves people and stuff well for $30k. Doesn’t ride like pretend race car. And gets 14mpg more than a golf R. Basically it’s function over posing. Interestingly the Rav also has real torque

You’re right, madness that only a crew cab full size will work for 3 across.

It’s probably just a matter of time before almost every vehicle is limited in acceleration by the tire/road coefficient of friction. My guess is within 5 to 10 years we're going to see 10-second minivans. I guess a model x is pretty close already. It's effectively just a minivan with some funky side doors that might

Yes! Child safety seats have gotten enormous. We tried to use ours in the back seat of a ram 1500 with the smaller crew cab. Rental truck. It was physically impossible to put the car seat in the back seat, and then get into the front seat as far forward as you had to put it to fit the child seat in the back. There’s
