So no rules on the roads? Interesting idea. Mad max!

Are the citizens where you live routinely armed?

You don’t really need me to pull up a dozen stories of cops being shot and killed during routine traffic stops to you? It happens. Teaching police how and when to use them is the answer. Or having no police. Sending them out without a way to defend themselves - there will be zero people willing to do that. It’s a fun

Took a while to decide if it was a single victim or two.

It’s not just flex. Solid axles distribute weight more evenly on uneven terrain. It’s just physics.

Something worth noting is that solid axles have an advantage on uneven terrain with the same wheel travel because of the physics of how the spring force is transferred through the beam to the two tires. If you want a more thorough analysis, I can provide it. But the short version is that you can model this pretty

I wrote a comment above - the short version is that it only tows about 3500lbs using the standardized SAE tow rating scale that full size trucks use. But if you ignore the certified hitch rating and use what LR calls it’s own “design” rating (I have no idea what that is) - you can get to maybe 5-6k lbs.

How about dashboard-light? They track actual repairs over millions of vehicles.

The reality is that the stereotype hasn’t changed. The data gets tracked. We don’t have to guess. Land Rovers break down. A lot. Even new ones. Are new Land Rovers better than old ones? Probably. Are they comparable to Land Cruisers? No. Not really even close.

Fahrenheit is also more efficient for humans. The celsius scale is too large. Human sensation of differing ambient temperatures is typically closer to 1 degree F. It’s easy to be one degree F to warm. But in C, you have to go to a third digit to explain normal temperature experiences. It’s simply easier to say

Things that last a long time tend to also last longer into the future. The “Lindy Effect”. Like it or not - it’s not going away for a very long time, probabilistically.

I edited this after your reply - if you didn’t see it - there’s more to the story as well. Tongue weight is limited to 771lbs and weight distribution hitch is not recommended. So in reality it’s probably somewhere around 5-6k lbs max tow capacity just as a result of the hitch limit. And probably not a good choice for

Those are the published numbers. But LR doesn’t use the SAE J2807 tow rating standard. So it’s a rating without any known basis. It does seem to high to be true - and it probably is way too high if it were tested to the SAE standards.

The problem is that the rating doesn’t really mean anything. There’s a standard, but not everyone follows it. Land Rover does not rate to J2807 standards. So it’s just a number chose by marketing. It can’t be compared to a J2807 tow rating or really anything else. It might be 4500lbs on the J2807 standard. Who knows?

Did you not recognize I was responding to a comment about supporting the Nazis?

Kinda. Less organized. But otherwise same idea.

It’s often called the Tullock Paradox. Why don’t politicians charge more for “favors"?

For Toyota this is Germany 1928. In 1928 donating to the Nazi party wasn’t probably a bad financial decision. I mean, let’s not forget where Volkswagen came from.

They have to donate. Remember the unintended acceleration that never really existed? Well... That’s what happens when you don’t pay the troll toll.

    How about selling?
